I love fall for so many reasons, beautiful colors, crisp morning air, oversized sweaters, and fall beverages. I have been a Pumpkin Spice Latte lover for years now and thought that would be my forever favorite. While I still love a good PSL, I may have found a drink I love even more.
I’ll back up a little bit and tell you that on a normal day I drink black coffee. I gave up coffee creamer when I went through a calorie counting phase of my life. I realized I was drinking too many calories to stay at a calorie deficit each day, so I gave it up. It usually doesn’t even cross my mind to add anything to my coffee until the seasonal creamers hit the shelves. Instead of buying a whole thing of creamer, I make a couple trips to Starbucks each week and get my fall beverage fix.
When it isn’t fall, my Starbucks drink of choice is always a Chai Tea Latte. They are the best drink on the menu and you will never change my mind. This year Starbucks did something magical and they mixed the Pumpkin Spice Latte and the Chai Tea Latte together to make the most delicious fall-inspired drink on the planet.
The Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte is the perfect combination of my beloved chai tea with a little pumpkin added in. The one problem is it’s a little high in calories and sugar. Lucky for me, Courtney Shields, blogger, and influencer, also loves them and did a post about how to order them with fewer calories. She orders it this way: Chai Latte with coconut milk, 2 pumps of chai and 2 pumps of pumpkin. I tried it that way and loved it.
Starbucks normally puts more than two pumps of each flavor in, so you are cutting calories and sugar there, and by using coconut milk you are cutting quite a few calories. Try it and let me know what you think.
