How do you take your makeup off at night? If you are like me, the thought of splashing water all over your face to use a liquid remover or cleanser sounds awful and messy. I just don’t want to do it.
I was strictly a makeup remover wipe girl for years and years. They are quick and easy and I don’t have to splash water all over myself. All that is really important is that I’m taking my makeup off at night, right?
Taking your makeup off every night is so important. Your skin needs to breathe to renew itself while you sleep. If you have makeup sitting on your skin it can’t do that. Not to mention if you leave eye makeup on it can flake off and get into your eyes. If using makeup wipes is the only way you will take off your makeup, than you do you, girl. Let me tell you about another way though.
The down side to makeup wipes is that you are rubbing and tugging on your skin. This can be especially damaging on the thin skin around your eyes. I recently discovered Shea Butter Body Cream as a makeup remover. I cannot tell you how good this feels every night. It is like a spa treatment in your own home.
All I do is take a little bit on my fingers, rub my hands together and rub it all over my face. I thought you said rubbing was bad? It isn’t the same rubbing. You aren’t tugging on your skin with a cloth, you are just rubbing the body cream all over. You aren’t trying to rub it in, just rubbing it all over.
The body cream will break down even the most long lasting makeup. I rub it all over my face for 30 seconds or so, then take a warm washcloth and gently wipe it away. The steam from the washcloth removes the rest of the makeup. I even take my eye makeup and my LipSense off this way.
When you are done your skin feels soft and moisturized. If you haven’t tried this makeup removal method yet you are missing out on a nightly spa treatment and the best feeling skin you will ever have.
