Adding a Pop of Color to Your Spring and Summer Makeup Looks

Don’t let bright colors be intimidating. They don’t have to be worn 80’s style where you apply bright blue eye shadow up to your brow. You can still wear bright colors for spring and summer without it being distracting.

Eye Shadows

There are a couple of different ways I like to add a bright pop of color to my eye look. The first one is to use a bright color as an eyeliner. I like to use bright or glittery either as eyeliner, or stacked on top of my regular eyeliner. Adding a glitter shadow or liner on top of your black liner adds just enough sparkle for an everyday look.

The second way I like to wear bright shadows is smudged on my lower lash line. It adds a pop of color without distracting from your lid look. You can smudge a bright color along your whole lash line, or do what I usually do and apply it to the outer half. You can smudge it out, or leave it tight like a liner depending on the look you like better.

The third way I like to incorporate bright or bold shadows into my look is to just put them on my lid. I will usually wear a neutral color in the crease then put the bright color on my lid and rock it anywhere. A few years ago I would have never thought to wear red eyeshadow, now it is one of my favorite colors to wear.

Lips

Every woman wants to rock a bright red lipstick at some point in her life. How do you do it? Choose a red that suites your skin tone (I can help with that) and just put it on. Every woman on the planet looks good in a red lip, you just have to find the red that works for you.

See a bright pink lip that looks great on someone, but you aren’t sure you can pull it off? You can. Just put it on your lips and walk out the door. I promise you no one will every tell you it doesn’t work. I have worn a ton of bright lipsticks in the last few years and no one has ever told me I look silly. You just need to feel and know that you are killing it, put the bright makeup on, and leave the house. You will be surprised what it will do for your day.
