I wanted to take the time today to give you ten random facts about myself. I write a lot about beauty, cooking, and life hacks, but some of you may not know that much about me. It’s time I change that, so I will start with ten random facts.
2019 has been a life-changing year for me. I left my job of eight years, my family, and my friends, and moved across the country from Flint, Michigan to San Francisco California for a new career opportunity. I miss my people more than I can express, but if I could go back I would make the exact same decision. I love the new experiences, the new people, and the new skills I am learning in my new city.
Aaron and I have been together for 13 years this fall. We live and work together and spend enough time together to drive most people crazy, but it works for us.
We have two fur babies, Savannah Cats Bishop and Jade. They are a total pain in my ass most days, but they cuddle with me and I forget that they just opened all the cupboards and ate all the bread (it happens).
I have worked in the radio industry since January 2006. I started at CK 105.5 in Flint, then moved over to Cars 108. I worked weekends at Magic 105.1 in Detroit, and 98.7 AMP radio in Detroit, both stations have now flipped formats. I have done everything from work at the front desk, to paint the hallways, do live air shifts, plan and execute events, work with non-profits to raise money, and more.
I am currently the Marketing Solutions Specialists for Bonneville International in San Francisco. In short, I work with the sales team to design the best marketing solutions for their clients. My job has changed slightly in the last 10 months, and I could not be more excited about the direction it is going.
I love playing with makeup and I am newly obsessed with skincare. I have been selling SeneGence products for a couple of years now because I truly love the products and the change in my skin from using quality products.
I like to cook. I don’t always have time to cook, but I like to when I can. We have subscribed to Home Chef for over two years now and it saves me so much time and planning. I made this roast this week and it was delicious. The recipe will be up later this week.
I have worn glasses or contacts since I was 7 years old. I have pretty exclusively worn contacts since high school, but I do wear my glasses from time to time.
I also had braces for years as a pre-teen. I had a massive overbite and VERY crooked teeth. The years I spent with braces and all the other contraptions were totally worth it though :). I also had corrective shoes as a child, but that is a story for another day.
On top of all the other changes in my life this year, I have lost 15 pounds. I tell people it is just because I walk everywhere now (and I do), but the truth is I worked my literal ass off and I am proud of myself. I will share the programs I used and all my thoughts on them soon.
There are my ten random facts, for now, I will keep doing these from time to time. If you have any specific questions that I didn’t touch on this time or want more info on something I did touch on, let me know. I am happy to share it.
