I know it is still summer, but I also know that I love the flavors and smells of fall more than anything else in life. I get extra dramatic about fall foods because they are hearty, and sweet, and extra delicious. I also am a person that believes foods like chili and beef stew should only be consumed in the fall and winter months, so I am excited to come home to the smell of beef stew in my crockpot soon.
I have a Pinterest board for recipes I want to try that I pin things to as I see them. I will usually scroll through that board, cook one, then if it is good I will document the process and share it with all of you. As I was scrolling through that Pinterest board this week I realized most of the recipes I have pinned recently have been fall recipes like apple tarts, apple cider, hot chocolate, and squashes. I wanted to share some of the recipes I am most excited to try with you so you don’t have to wait for me to review them.
- Thanksgiving Punch: This drink includes ingredients like apple cider, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, caramel, and apples. Doesn’t that sound like fall in a glass?
- Crockpot Pumpkin Spiced Latte: I doubt this is as good as the Starbucks version, but who doesn’t want a crockpot full of it to yourself?
- Cinnamon Roll Sugar Cookies: Do I need to even sell you on this concept? It is the marriage of a cinnamon roll and a sugar cookie.
- Apple Pie Bites: I have made these before and they are delicious. They are great for a dish to pass or just a treat to have at home.
- Cinnamon Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Cranberries: I love sweet potatoes in any form. I may want to add some feta or goat cheese to this dish, but I will make it and let you know.
- Slow Cooker Pot Roast: This is what sent me down the fall recipe rabbit hole. Every time I make pot roast I use a Pinterest recipe, but I never save it, so I use a different one each time. I am looking for a recipe I love.
- Chicken Mozzarella Pasta: I was just telling a coworker today that I eat a lot of pasta in the fall and winter because sweaters cover the extra five pounds. It’s solid reasoning.
- Apple Crisp Stuffed Baked Apples: Again, do I need to say more? Apples, vanilla ice cream, caramel. Delicious.
What are your favorite fall recipes? I am always looking for inspiration.
