Monthly Recap: July 2020

I blinked and it was August.

In June we worked from home and overall it wasn’t too eventful. We did find a couple of fun things to do last month that broke up all the time at home.

We found a hiking trail in San Rafael called Terra Linda Sleepy Hollow Divide. It was hot this day, like 95 hot. We may have forgotten what that heat felt like, because we only hiked a couple of miles. There were some goats along the trail that were “working”, so we stopped to snap some photos and take a breather.

That hike was conveniently located (because I planned it that way) next to a drive through fair. The Marin County Fair is doing drive through fair food each weekend. We waited over an hour in line to place our order. It didn’t seem that long because we were in our air conditioned car listening to the radio and chatting. Once we placed our order we got our food very quickly. We spend $38 on fair food, and it was worth every penny. I will never pass up the chance to eat a funnel cake and drink some fair lemonade.

One of our friends has been out of town with family for a couple of months. He finally came home, so we met up one Saturday at a park to catch up and get some fresh air. We stayed in our socially distant circle, had a couple ciders, and just chatted.

The last weekend in June we drove over to Yosemite for a seven mile hike. I can’t express how beautiful it is over there. Aaron and I were just talking this past weekend about going again, maybe in the fall. You can see the full Yosemite experience here.

As school is starting back up and fall clothes are hitting the shelves we are hoping things start to look a little more “normal” in August. I know that probably won’t happen, but a girl can hope.
